System components used to manufacture glass are exposed to extreme environments such as temperatures above 1400 °C, strong corrosion, and heavy friction.
The reduced SiO2 content of our aluminum oxide ceramics minimizes the risk of corrosion. Their high purity and the composition of the secondary materials they contain extend the lifespan of the components used and result in outstanding dimensional stability and creep resistance. Gas feed-in pipes from the standard line of Kyocera products are recognized solutions for operators of melting tanks, as the aluminum oxide used scores additional points for its electrical insulation of over 30kV/mm. Thanks to its porous material structure, DEGUSSIT AL24 is significantly better at withstanding temperature shocks than high-density materials, as tension within the material structure is limited.
